On-Site Dental Lab in Mississauga

Our Mississauga office has an on-site dental laboratory, “The Dental Works.” This facility is owned and operated by Teresa Karolidis, RDT (Registered Dental Technologist). The on-site laboratory facilitates the ability of the dentist to provide an aesthetic result for patients who require dentures.

Cleaning Tips for Dentures

1. Handle dentures properly.

Since they may easily break just from a few inches drop, be sure to stand over a water-filled sink when you are handling them. Remove dentures carefully. Plaque can also form on dentures so remove it every day. Aside from the purpose of cleaning, this also allows your gum tissue to take a break.

2. Clean dentures thoroughly.

Rinse with warm water and gently use a denture brush and soak to help remove sticky food particles. Soak them nightly in a cleanser solution. Harsh brushing may damage metal or plastic parts.

3. Clean your mouth too.

You still need to brush your tongue, gums, and any natural teeth before putting your dentures back in.

4. Store it somewhere safe.

Keep them away from children or pets. When you aren’t using them, soak them in a cleanser solution so they won’t dry out. This prevents them from losing their shape. Just never put your dentures in hot water, this will cause them to warp.
